    3. Thanks Barclay - couldn't immediately track this down in my copious numbers of Newlins and Woodwards. The Nathaniel and Jane who married at Old Swedes in 1757 were first cousins and thus could not marry as Quakers. Yes, the Jane who married Nathaniel Jr was daughter of Richard and Jane and was sister of Edward Woodward, father of the second Jane. I didn't have daughter Alice for them. There were actually quite a few first cousin marriages in the Woodward family finally resulting in two albino children born (as I recall in Nebraska) in later years. They were also geniuses and graduated college at a very early age (if I remember correctly - don't offhand recall their names). You meant Edward Woodward and Alice Smedley of course. Edward had three wives (Abigail Edge, Alice Smedley, and Elizabeth Jarman) and here is his will abstract: Name: Edward Woodward Title: Yeoman Description: Decedent Residence: Newtown Date: 15 May 1754 Prove Date: 12 Nov 1754 Book Page: C:511 Remarks: Edward Woodward. Newtown. Yeoman 5/15/1754. November 12, 1754. C. 515. Provides for wife Elizabeth. To Joseph, son of Peter Taylor deceased, £5 at 21. To Margaret McLone the woman who now lives with me £5. To John Bradley the boy that now lives with me £5 if he lives with George till he is 21. Executor: Son George. Trustees: Son-in-law William Hunter and William Lewis. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Quaker1682@aol.com> To: <PA-OLD-CHESTER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, August 12, 2006 11:00 AM Subject: Re: [PaOldC] Joseph and son Ellis Newlin > Both of you are correct.
