Hi Mal, I believe in one of your earlier messages you stated that yoou were interested in a Graham family of Chester County. I have been trying to sort out the families with a modicum of sucess for the one I am descended from: James (1700-1783) and Mary c 1705-1811) Graham. They are buried in the Old Pequea Church graveyard in Salisbury township of Lancaster County - close to HoneyBrook in Chester County. Many of their descendants are buried near to them. I have transcribed and posted their Wills as well as those of James' sister Jennet McConnaughy and his own daughter Mary Darlington. Many pre WWII HoneyBrook families could trace back to this couple - perhaps the same is true today. Jennet McConnaughy names as brothers: James, Arthur, and Jared. I do not know whether Jarrett/Jared Graham of Lancaster County is the Jared named by Jennet as brother -- his age and arrival in the area do seem to point in that direction.

My father's mother was a Graham and consequently my middle name is Graham. Grahams at Pequea are is news to me, I think, and quite interesting as my father's tree also has a number of families at Pequea. I also have found some Grahams married to one of the same families that shows up in my mother's tree, Gilchrist, via Grahams at Paxton Church in Dauphin County PA. There also seems to be a lot of connections to reverends in the Graham, Finley and related families. I think there's a Graham married into my mother's Dill tree also. My great grandfather was William C. Graham of Mars, PA. He had also lived in Colorado where he met his wife Carolyn Clark of a Clark family involved in mining around Cripple Creek. I know the family has roots back to Paxton Church in Dauphin County PA by Harrisburg where we find John Finley Graham married to Margaret Gilchrist. From there back it gets a bit confusing as there are reports that there may be some confusion in the early ancestors specifically with some of the PA and VA branches. I can go into more detail on that some other time. One book I purchased recently, Hazard's Annals of Pennsylvania 1609-1682, covers history of PA up to the point of arrival of Penn's Quakers. I believe I found at least one reference in this to a James Graham that suggested that there may be a Graham line that immigrated before the typical Presbyterian Scotch-Irish waves of immigration in the early 1700s. I need to go back and find this. The book does not show him in the index. The info below may have some innacuracies and unproven info, which is one reason I'm particularly interested in any other early PA Graham lines.
