Re the question: I have Sibilla Davis's grandparents as DANIEL Harris and Sibyll Price. Is it David or Daniel? On page 692 of the History of Chester County, Pennsylvania by Futhey and Cope, David Harris is listed as the grandfather, it does not mention the grandmother's name. So, I looked around and found that a Hugh Harris and a Daniell Harris arrived from Macchinleth in Montgomeryshire on the ship the Vine of Liverpoole arriving the 17th day of the 7 mo. 1684 at Philadlephia, William Presson, Master. Perhaps David Harris was their brother, as it was mentioned that he arrived on the 17th day 10th month 1684 too, but I do not find him or what ship he came on....yet. . William Kirk married Abigail Sharpley in 1692 and had 10th child, William Kirk, On page 516 of the same book, a John Davis, or David of Uwchlan, is listed as purchaser of 100 acres in Uwchlan in 1715 and is said to have come from Radnorshire. He died in 1736, leaving a widow, Elizabeth (Harris) Davis, daughter of Daniel and Sibyll Harris and lists the children which included a Sibbilla b. 1, 1, 1726 who married first on 4, 13, 1746, Edward Williams and second on 3, 27, 1754 William Kirk of Nantmeal. The above William Kirk was also of East Nantmeal, so I would tend to believe that the father of Sibilla Harris Davis married to William Kirk was either David or Daniel. Guess more study and research needs to be done to feret out the proof. I wonder though if there were indeed both a David and a Daniel, since Cope lists two dates for each arrivals. It's never easy is it. Dottie
Daniel Harry/Harris who married Elizabeth or Sybil Price, and came to PA on THE VINE, had 2 brothers I'm aware of, Hugh and Evan, but no David.
