    3. Still searching for any info about a John KERRr(CARR) who apparently settled in Chester Cnty. after leaving "Unicorn Plantation, Talbot Manor, Maryland. He died 1743 in Chester Co. A son,Josiah KERR(CARR), suposedly left the area of Middle Octarara and relocated to York Co. in the area of Bonneveauville now in Adams Co. PA. The name CARR also appears on his Revolutionary War record. Josiah was a Captian of the 4th Btn., 5th Co., York Co Militia, Mt Pleasand Twp. Is this Josiah the asme who sold his Lancaster property to the Rev. John Cuthbertson in 1757? Earliest tax records for York Co. show Josiah paying taxes in Mt. Pleasant Twp. in 1762. My information comes from "The Compendium of American Genealogy" by Frederick Virkus. I need some info to back up this information. Josiah KERR is my proven fifth great grandfather. Daughter Susannah KERR married Archibald COULTER and were residents in the Whitehall and later Gettysburg area of PA. Lots of info about this family to exchange Charles Coulter Port Charlotte, FL charlana2@earthlink.net EarthLink Revolves Around You.

    3. No will in Chester for a John Kerr who died in 1743,, but adm. papers on file.......not as good as a will, but sometimes they contain valuable info. I sent for a set for a Geo. Baxter, just hoping that there would be some inkling that he was 'my' Geo. Baxter, who had disappeared at an early age....I waded through them, but when I got to the last page, there, in the top corner was a signature - Eleanor Baxter....MY George was married to an Eleanor, so it was "my" George! CARR, JOHN.October 1, 1743.Adm. to William Rowan. I found Josiah's in York Co; December 23, 1783 May 11, 1784Kerr, Josiah. Executors: William Kerr and James McIlhenny. Mt.Pleasant Township. Wife: Mary Kerr. Children: Josiah, Alexander, Susanna m. John Coulter, and William. Grandchildren: Josiah and John (children of Alexander), Jannet, Mary, Susanna, Martha, and John Coulter. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Charles Coulter" <charlana2@earthlink.net> To: <PA-OLD-CHESTER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 26, 2006 11:31 AM Subject: [PaOldC] Kerr family > Still searching for any info about a John KERRr(CARR) who apparently > settled in Chester Cnty. after leaving "Unicorn Plantation, Talbot Manor, > Maryland.
