    3. Is anyone researching SOUDER/SOUDER/SAUTER of Honeybrook/Uwchlan/W Whiteland area? I have been looking for the maiden name of Barbara, wife of Jacob HIGH Jr, E Nantmeal, and found a will abstract for Eve SOUDERS, widow, Honeybrook, of 8/1/1820, proved 10/7/1820. I wonder if her daughter Barbara could be my Jacob HIGH's wife? She says: All estate to be sold and proceeds equally divided between my 6 children: Barbara wife of Jacob HYE, Henry, Jacob, Philip and John SOUDERS, and Mary, wife of Nathan GRIFFITH. Jacob to have $50 in addition to his equal share. Son-in-law Nathan GRIFFITH to have option of the house at appraised value. Execs: Henry and Philip, sons. Wits: Alexander Kennedy and Nathan Griffith (No letters granted) An intestate file for her husband, Jacob SOUDERS, W Whiteland of 11/13/1805 exists and letters of admin were granted to Eve and Henry SOUDERS. He left a widow Eve and 7 children: Barbara m Jacob ---, Jacob, Henry, Philip, John, Mary and Samuel. I believe this Jacob SOUDERS is a son of Henry SOUDER, E Whiteland, whose will was written 1794, probated 1811, after codicil filed in 12/13/1805, that the executor he named, his oldest son Jacob, had died. He left money to Mathew Pennypacker for the poor of the Mennonite Church in Charlestown, and named sons and daus Jacob, Henry, Magdalene WIREMAN, Elisabeth MIM, Mary RUTH, Esther, Susanna FISHER and Barbara. He names 2 sons-in-law Christian FISHER and Henry RUTH. A WorldTree file shows this Henry SOUDER with dates 7/1722-10/25/1811 E Whiteland, wife Barbara STAUFFER 1724 -1791, and among his children a son Jacob born 9/28/1747, but there is no information on son Jacob's family as described in the wills above. The Tree shows later surname conversion to SAUTER. The Jacob HIGH that I have, is son of Jacob HIGH Sr and wife Elizabeth. The latter died 1812 in E Nantmeal. His son Jacob, Jr received some of his land, and in 8/1814 he sold parts of it and in the deed, his wife was shown as Barbara. In that deed, John SOUDERS witnessed/certified it with a Michael LYNCH, both JPs for the recording. I estimate that Jacob HIGH was prob born abt early to mid1760s as he was in Militia units in 1780 and 1781 under Col Thomas BULL. His father Jacob High Sr was born in late 1720s - c12/1812. So I am 'fishing' to see if anyone knows anything about the SOUDERS who died 1803 and 1820 and their children's ages. Jacob HIGH Jr was a brother of my gr3grandmother Maria HIGH (1763-1831)who m Henry LANDIS. There are SOUDERS buried at Brownback Reformed. Does anyone know who? In 1790 Census: Henry SOUDERS is in E Whiteland 1-1-3 Jacob SOUDERS is in W Whiteland 2-4-3 on line 22 which is in Uwchlan. In 1800 CR Henry SOUDERS is in age bracket over 45, in Treddyfrin Township with family. In 1830 Henry SOUDERS is shown under licensed taverns in E Whiteland. Thanks anyone...... Diana in AL
