Dear all, Thanks to some emails off the list, Sandra has pointed me in a few directions looking at the various Jansens (+ various spellings) and showing that there were several Claus Jansens. According to PA German books on the Claus Jansen of Skippack (wd. 1739, wp. 1745) was born in Mu(e)lheim in 1658. It has been raised by more than one people that he was probably too old to have all those children during his second marriage to Catherine Conrad. So in effect, I have thrown out the date of 1658 as unverifiable in favour to Sandra's date that Claus Jansen of Bucks Co. (a Swede who will was probated 1723). By unverifiable I mean that that date shows up in a variety of books, but no primary source (so far) Do anyone have a *verifiable* date on "Swede" Claus of Bucks Co being born in 1658? Maybe the ages are given in the 1693 census for the Swedes. Unfortunately I don't have access to it as I now live in South Africa. I think it is much more likely that someone confused the two men by the same name who lived very much in the same area. Michel PS, I am new to this list.

Michel, almost all the date I have sent you, AND posted to this list IS fromTHE 1693 CENSUS OF SWEDES ON THE DELAWARE.......the original Clas Jansson, arrived in New Sweden in 1637-8..His son, Clas Johnsson ended up owning land in Neshaminy, Bensalem twp, Bucks Co, where he paid taxes....as I included in the last posing on this fella, he was born ca 1658 and married Walborg, b 1661, dau of Matthias Bengtsson....he died Dec 1723, "probably 65 yoa" I included his will last time, too. So, I imagine this is about as good as you're going to get as far as birth info.
