    1. [PA-OLD-CHESTER] Andrew Holmes - was RE: Robert Graham m Rachel Mills c 1790
    2. Mal Humes
    3. Does anyone have anything on Andrew Holmes cited in the will below? I've been looking for an Andrew Hume that had a land warrant in Hanover Twp, Lancaster County circa 1737. That's the only reference I found to him and it looks like John Hume completed the survey and got the property a few years later. This will looks like an interesting lead, especially with some Grahams settled in Hanover Twp attending the same church, Old Hanover Presbyterian, that I find the Hume family at in the latter half of the 18th century. There are other potential Hume/Graham connections in the area prior to that. There was a John Hume who was an indentured servant of Andrew Hamilton in NJ in 1680's before that Andrew Hamilton became Lt. Gov of PA in 1701. That John Hume was dead by 1690's but had owned property adjacent to Lewis Morris, a future Gov. of NJ who was married to a daughter of James Graham of NY who had witnessed Penn's arrival at New Castle. I've also been looking at the Rev. Holmes family that immigrate to Boston with a Rev. Craighead. Craighead moved to PA to service churches there and it seems plausible some of the Holmes followed. There was also a Holmes family in VA from Jamestown on and a Hume line in VA from early 18th century. -----Original Message----- Here is an abstract for William Graham's will in 1761. He mentions his brother, Robert Graham. Maybe he's yours. Prove date is 27 Apr 1761 William Graham. 18 Feb 1761. Wife Anne. Dau. Jean, plantation upon Bonney Brook, where the Riggs now live.
