THE HISTORY OF CHESTER COUNTY by Futhey and Cope's earliest mention of Morris is on a list of of taxpayers, in 1693...and, he paid tax in Haverford. Then, in `70` he is one of a list of purchasers of the Welsh Tract......5th 12mo 1701. from early Chester court records; "1697 Morris Lewellin bought a woman sarvant whose name is ------ who was ajudged to sarve five years from this court to the said Morris Oewellin or his assignes." .
