Mary - I found a mention to your MORRIS STEPHENS in his grandmother Ellenor Evans' Will dated 23 Jan 1758. In this Will, Abijah was not mentioned, just Morris and Eleanor! I found the Will in: Phildelphia County Wills, 1682-1819, Historical Society of Pennsylvania, 1900, BookPage: M:149. Ellenor Evans. Former husband Griffith Evans. Upper Merion, Co. of Philadelphia. Widow. Jan. 23, 1758. July 18, 1761. M.149. Child: Elizabeth, wife of David Stephens. Grandchildren: Morris and Eleanor. Exec: Henry Paulin, Thos. Watters, James David. Codicil: April 16, 1761. In regard to Abijah, his grandmother Mary Stephens Will was written 05 Mar 1775. Abijah could still have been born in 1758, just between 23 Jan and 05 Mar! That would explain why he isn't mentioned in his grandmother Ellenor Evans' Will. Or else she didn't know about Abijah's birth, for whatever reason, before she died. Or, Abijah was not the son of Elizabeth. Happy problem-solving! Jeanne D.
