    3. I have a Thomas Pierson, widower, married to a Rose Dickson, in 1690. Rose was the daughter of Henry Dickson. this is from THE IMMIGRATION OF THE IRISH QUAKERS INTO PA - 1682-1750 , by the Welcome Society and Albert Myers.

    3. This Thomas Pierson may possibly be the son of Thomas Pierson b. 1642 Southampton, LI d. 1684 Newark. Essex Co., NJ. m. Mary Brown b. 1653 Milford, New Haven, CT d. 1684 Newark, Essex Co., NJ. The progenitor of this family in America was Abraham Pierson, b. 1616 Yorkshire, England d. 1678 Newark, Essex County, NJ. The family was Quaker and eventually wound up in the Bucks County area. Crispin Pearson of Bucks County was a descendant of this line, according to a Longshore family researcher. I am seeking information confirming or denying this line of descent On Oct 9, 2006, at 4:01 AM, eeyore wrote: > I have a Thomas Pierson, widower, married to a Rose Dickson, in 1690. > Rose > was the daughter of Henry Dickson. > this is from THE IMMIGRATION OF THE IRISH QUAKERS INTO PA - 1682-1750 > , by > the Welcome Society and Albert Myers.

    3. There seems to be a plethora of Thomas Pearson/Piersons early on., and good luck figuring them out. THE WELCOME CLAIMANTS PROVED,DISPROVED, DOUBTFUL, by McCracken, has mention of a Thomas Pearson who came on the Comfort, 28th 7mo 1683. There is also a note in Smith's HISTORY OF DELAWARE COUNTY PA, p 491...that says Thomas Pearson was a mason from Pownall, with wife Margaret, brother John and Sister Mary Smith, arrived registered on the Endeavor.....so, there are 2 Thomas Pearsons. A Thomas Pierson married Rose Dixon, dau of Wm and Ann, ...in 1690...this Thomas was a widower, and Deputy Surveyer of New Castle Co......( IMMIGRATION OF THE IRISH QUAKERS, by Myers)...however, there is, elsewhere in the book, the note that Rachel Sharpley m 8mo 1686, Thomas Pierson, Dept. Surveyor...this is supposedly in the records of the Newark MM.... Throw in the NJ Thomas Pearsons and you've got quite a few! S.
