    3. Rosemary Winkler has added some Chester County, Pennsylvania descendants to her Woodward DNA web site at http://www.mcnerneywinkler.com/Woodward_dna.html Two of the posted DNA samples are from descendants of Richard and Jane Woodward of Chester County and one is a descendant of Thomas Woodward, sea Captain of Chester County, Pa. Interestingly the DNA of all three is extremely close, indicating that possibly Thomas and Richard were closely related or the subject has the wrong Thomas as his ancestor (there were four Thomas Woodwards in the 1790 census in Chester County). Wouldn't it be interesting if some male Woodwards currently living in Chester County and descended from Richard and Jane would volunteer for the DNA project so we could see the comparison of those who stayed in Chester and those who took the North Carolina Indiana migration route? _________________________________________________________________ Stay in touch with old friends and meet new ones with Windows Live Spaces http://clk.atdmt.com/MSN/go/msnnkwsp0070000001msn/direct/01/?href=http://spaces.live.com/spacesapi.aspx?wx_action=create&wx_url=/friends.aspx&mkt=en-us

    3. Could someone explain to my ignorant self why DNA projects require Y Dna (from males) in order to establish descendancy? My Woodward ancestors are from my mother (deceased), who had one brother (deceased), and all the male uncles are deceased. My mother had one son (deceased) and me and my sisters. I have no children. So I cannot participate in DNA projects, correct? Thanks, Margaret
