from a lookup in THE WELCOME CLAIMANTS PROVED, DISPROVED AND DOUBTFUL....by, the Welcome Society. John Gilbert was said to have been aboard the Welcome in early published works (mid 1800s to early 1900s), but there is no proof of his having been a passenger. Apparently the descendants of John Gilbert are of the opinion that John came as early as 1679. ( but the book doesn't give their documentation for believing this)...also, another area John Gilbert Sr, from of Bucks Co, bought 100 acres at Great Egg Harbor, NJ, in 1695, and his will, of 1711 calls him a Philadelphia merchant. -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
