Here below is info about land bought on the Jersey side by one John GILBERT, in 1699. He bought a piece of land in 1699 and sold it in 1702. "Falls of Delaware" is about where Trenton is now. I do not know which John Gilbert this was. There may be more later on the NJ-List about the Egg Harbor purchase; we're still transcribing NJ deeds. That is, David Tourison is transcribing and I am assisting by proofreading & putting the surnames into capital letters. But here is what there is so far for one John GILBERT: [West Jersey Records, Liber B, Part 2. Page 709]: 1699 Oct. 14. Deed. The West Jersey Society, by their agent Thomas REVELL, to John GILBERT of Burlington, weaver, for 200 acres of the Society's 30,000 a. tract above the Falls of Delaware. 1701-2 Feb. 16. Do. John GILBERT (as above) to Nicholas MARTINEAU of Burlington, joiner, for the preceding 200 acres, on the Southside of Stony Brook, adjoining Jonathan DAVIS. Hope this helps somehow, Liz J
