I was looking through some papers from Juniata County, PA and ran across a Mendenhall. I have no connection to this family, but have seen it many times on the Chester Co. list. The agreement is with a resident of Perrysville (now called Port Royal, Juniata Co, PA). Articles of agreement made this 10th day of Dec. 1852 between John Kepner of the Borough of Perrysville of the first part and Washington B. Mendenhall of Chester County Penna as follows to Wit. The said John Kepner hereby agrees to and with the said Washington B. Mendenhall to sell unto him a lot of the ordinary dimensions of Lots in the Borough of Perrysville being the first corner lot directly opposite the Church Lot on Middle Street for which the said Washington B. Mendenhall agrees to pay the said John Kepner One hundred dollars Fifty dollars in hand and fifty dollars on the first day of April next being April 1st 1853.
