Daniel Harry/Harris who married Elizabeth or Sybil Price, and came to PA on THE VINE, had 2 brothers I'm aware of, Hugh and Evan, but no David.
I have Elizabeth Or Sybil Price, Brecknock, Wales b. Abt. 1670, married Daniel Harry, b. Abt. 1663, Machynlleth, Mongomery, Wales. They married at Haverford, Radnor, PA. Daniel Came to America in Sep 1684 with his brother Hugh on the "Vine", that sailed out of Liverpool, England. Daniel Harris/Harry and Elizabeth/Sybil Price had a daughter Elizabeth Harry b. Abt. 1691 Chester Co, PA and married John Davis, b. 1690 Wales. Daniel Harry was the son of Harry Thomas Owen and Elizabeth, married Abt. 1657, in Machynlleth, Powys, Wales.
No will in Chester for a John Kerr who died in 1743,, but adm. papers on file.......not as good as a will, but sometimes they contain valuable info. I sent for a set for a Geo. Baxter, just hoping that there would be some inkling that he was 'my' Geo. Baxter, who had disappeared at an early age....I waded through them, but when I got to the last page, there, in the top corner was a signature - Eleanor Baxter....MY George was married to an Eleanor, so it was "my" George! On March 19, 2006, you listed a will for Youngblood, John, Chester Co. Nov. 28, 1774. As I read it, I realized that I was looking at my gggg grandfathers name John Wolf Wistar (Whisler) as an Exec. along with Ellizabeth Magdilen, his mother-in-law. Where could I write to get a copy of this will? The Jungblut line has been a brick wall. We have assumed that Elizabeth Magdilen 's daughter was named Maria Martha Jungblut. Now I wonder if she just didn't use the name Elizabeth (first name) because it was the same as her mother's? Betty ==== PA-OLD-CHESTER Mailing List ==== Unsubscribing.... Many times an agreement can be reached, between the list member and the adm, about how things maybe presented, but NEVER just post things as a way of selling something you wish to sell! This is NEVER acceptable behavior! To anyone interested in obtaining information about Adam Andrew's descendents, I have completed a book in 2002. The books have all sold to relatives and are in the following libraries at Napoleon, Henry Co., OH; Florida, Henry Co., OH; Deshler, Henry Co., OH; Middletown, Butler Co., OH and at the genealogy library in Ft. Wayne, IN. They are under my name, Carole Ann Werling. I do have CD's available if interested - contact me on the internet at werlinks@yahoo.com . Although I published the book (with photos and "proofs"), I continue to search for Adam Andrew's parents, siblings and nationality. Several have written in the last few weeks with clues, and if I find anything else, I'll put it on this site. If any others have further information on Adam Andrew's heritage, please contact me. --------------------------------- Ring'em or ping'em. Make PC-to-phone calls as low as 1¢/min with Yahoo! ok, in response to the question regarding Sybill (Price)and Daniel Harris, could this be the problem. I checked in in "The History of Delaware County" by Geroge Smith, M.D. and perhaps this is a clue, but since it is not my family line, one that I am not familiar with, you will have to help out here. The question is whether Daniel Harris married Sybill Price......well I found on page 466, a Daniel Harry, and I quote, "Harry, Daniel, came from "Machanlloth, near Dolgelly, in Merioneth, Wales, in 1687, and settled in Radnor township. In 1691, he married Sybill , the daugher of David Price of the same township." Now is this Daniel Harris who married Sybill Price who were possibly the parents of Sibilla Harris Davis who married William Kirk, or is it Daniel Harry who married Sybill Price and were the parents of Sibilla Harry Davis??????? This is giving me a headache! Dottie
I have meant for a couple days to add to the PENNYPACKER info... Thanks to all for adding their info and the will extracts. I appreciate it. Matthias PENNYPACKER (I have seen it originally as PENNEBAKER) who married Mary KUSTER, had a son Matthias, mentioned in the will. The Matthias Jr. was married to Sarah ANDERSON, great-granddaughter of James Anderson and Elizabeth Jerman, granddaughter of Capt. Patrick Anderson & Ann BEATON, daughter of Lt. Isaac Anderson and Mary LANE. I don't have the marriage date for Sarah Anderson and Matthias Pennypacker, Jr. If anyone has that, I'd really like to be able to document it. Interestingly, the Pennypacker children of Matthias Jr. and Sarah Anderson were: James Anderson Pennypacker, 1808-1857 Mary Ann Pennypacker, 1810-1887 Isaac Anderson Pennypacker, 1812-1856 Washington Pennypacker, 1814-1867 Mathias Pennypacker (I I I), 1819-1899 Also, in 1777 when the home & mill of Matthias Sr. were ransacked and destroyed, so was the land and home of Capt. Patrick Anderson. As I have studied the Andersons' movement into the Cumberland Valley, Fort Cumberland and later Washington Co., PA, then down the Ohio River to Fort Belleville in Wood Co. (now WV) I have seen the Pennypacker and Pennybacker names several times. I haven't been able to make the connections yet as to who went & when, but I do think the Pennypackers of Chester moved to several of the same places as my Andersons. If anyone has info, I'd love to share what I have and learn more. Happy hunting, Laura > PENNYPACKER, MATHIAS. Re the question: I have Sibilla Davis's grandparents as DANIEL Harris and Sibyll Price. Is it David or Daniel? On page 692 of the History of Chester County, Pennsylvania by Futhey and Cope, David Harris is listed as the grandfather, it does not mention the grandmother's name. So, I looked around and found that a Hugh Harris and a Daniell Harris arrived from Macchinleth in Montgomeryshire on the ship the Vine of Liverpoole arriving the 17th day of the 7 mo. 1684 at Philadlephia, William Presson, Master. Perhaps David Harris was their brother, as it was mentioned that he arrived on the 17th day 10th month 1684 too, but I do not find him or what ship he came on....yet. . William Kirk married Abigail Sharpley in 1692 and had 10th child, William Kirk, On page 516 of the same book, a John Davis, or David of Uwchlan, is listed as purchaser of 100 acres in Uwchlan in 1715 and is said to have come from Radnorshire. He died in 1736, leaving a widow, Elizabeth (Harris) Davis, daughter of Daniel and Sibyll Harris and lists the children which included a Sibbilla b. 1, 1, 1726 who married first on 4, 13, 1746, Edward Williams and second on 3, 27, 1754 William Kirk of Nantmeal. The above William Kirk was also of East Nantmeal, so I would tend to believe that the father of Sibilla Harris Davis married to William Kirk was either David or Daniel. Guess more study and research needs to be done to feret out the proof. I wonder though if there were indeed both a David and a Daniel, since Cope lists two dates for each arrivals. It's never easy is it. Dottie

John Maris's children are well documented as that Maris line is Quaker and quite extensive in Pennsylvania and North Carolina in the 1700s. John's father was the original Maris emigrant, George Maris, b. 1632 Grafton-Flyford, Worchestershire, England. I did Google "Christian Maris" and found this info on your Christian Maris: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/pa/montgomery/roberts/roberts119.html: Christian Maris was the first of the family in this country, they being of German origin. He emigrated to America, and located on a tract of land near the present site of Phoenixville. One of his sons, David, married and had several children, one of whom was Hannah Maris, born 7th mo. 30, 1819, wife of William Hughes. She died 10th mo. 27, 1902, at her home near King-of-Prussia. and also, http://www.pennock.ws/surnames/fam/fam28469.html : Christian Maris Born: 1751 at: Germany Married: at: Died: 24 MAR 1795 at: Pheonixville, Chester Co., Pa. And at http://www.pennock.ws/surnames/nti/nti74720.html: Matthias Pannebecker purchased, in 1774, a mill and tract of land on Pickering creek, Schuylkill township, Chester county, and settled there. He became a Bishop of the Mennonite Church, and preached at Phoenixville, Skippack and Germantown. His first wife, Mary Kuster, having died in 1794, he married (second) Margaret (Longaker) Maris, widow of Christian Maris, and daughter of Daniel Longaker, by whom he had one daughter Sarah, who became the wife of William Walker, of Pickering Valley, and mother of Mary Pennypacker Walker, who married Tristram Coffin Colket. So it looks as though your Christian Maris is not part of George & John Maris' English family. Eleanor

I checked the listing for Historical Markers in Chester Co, and there is nothing that has a mention of a Thomas Taylor. Sandra (are you sure you mean the county of Chester? Remember, there is also a township and a town named Chester, so when we read something or other is in Chester, Pa, we need to determine, county? township? town?) So, I also checked Del.
