Sounds like the problam I have with my great-grandparents. I checked the City Directories and got an idea when they might have died, but even after 10 year searches, Vital Records SWEARS they have NO death certificates for either. Even after I gave them all the info I have. I know for a fact they died in Philadelphia. Maybe it's because their name was SMITH and certain people just didn't feel like looking.
