In 1899, the deaths were usually recorded in the county courthouses. The state took over in 1906. Clifford is not near Luzerne Co. so would suggest you check out the courthouses in Lackawanna or Susquehanna counties. I see there is a volunteer for Lackawanna Co. on the Random Acts list. Eleanore
