    1. [PA-OBITS] Death Certificate/Undertaker
    2. Fredreica Speyer
    3. I just received the Certificate of Death for my ancestor, Jacob H. Speyer. He died 1 June 1939 after being struck by a car on a public highway near Montgomery, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. It was stated that an investigation was being made, but no autopsy was done. He died of traumatic shock at Muncy Valley Hospital. The undertaker was Thomas Redmond of Williamsport, but the body was removed for burial to Jersey City, New Jersey by Walter I. Speyer, his son. Would an automobile accident resulting in death have been reported in the local newspaper? I would also love to know if an obit was done for this gentleman. Was Thomas Redmond with a funeral home in or near Williamsport and if so, which one? Would those records indicate where in Jersey City, NJ my ancestor might have been buried? Sorry for so many questions and for posting to two lists at once, but I'm hoping someone out there can help me with these questions. I welcome any thoughts and/or suggestions on how to learn more about my ancestor by following information learned from this death certificate. Thanks! Fredreica
