    3. Hi Nancy, $3. or $4. would be OK. What and where is New Castle? I am not familiar. I was looking at the Register of Wills in Luzerne County, I think they want $25. for a search. Too much right now. Lackawanna County only requested $10. for a search. They searched and could not find it there and returned my money. Nice people. You may want to write them(if they are still around) to see what records they have. Also, since you know he cemetery name I would write them to see what information they have(maybe other family member burried there age of death etc). I also read there is a site you can find Philadelphia obituaries. If I run across it again I will send it to you. Sandy in Mass ==============================

    3. How would I go about getting an obit from 1913? Although Jules N. Toussaint died in Camden on July 3, 1913, he worked for 30+ years as a barber in the Bullitt Building in Philadelphia. Therefore, the Philly papers might have had an obituary on him because he probably knew so many people. Do I have to go to the newpapers? Is there a central reposiitory somewhere? Any help would be appreciated. Ed Toussaint Potomac, MD

    1. [PA-OBITS] Update..Real Mystery.....Please Help
    2. I want to thank everyone who is sending me info and suggestions in trying to solve my family 'mystery'!! You are a terrific bunch! I am going through everything you send me. Here is an update with a bit more information. But "I still need help", please! I am seeking help from anyone who has access to census records, cemetery records, obituaries, birth/death records, marriage records, directories of Harrisburg PA, anything............................... The only info I have available has been sent to me by people who have responded to my requests. I do not have actual copies of the 1900 or 1910 census records myself so I am going by what others tell me. This is all the information I know........... *********************************** 1900 Census for Harrisburg, Dauphin County, PA 8th Ward, Pg.245 (also 253/258 which I think are the numbers for each person) Head of Household is Solomon B. Zeigler, age 48, Born January 1852 in PA, Married 20 years ( I do know that he was married to Harriet M. McGarvey who is shown in Newport, Perry County, PA in this census...........so they apparently were getting divorced at the time and it was not final since they are both listed as married yet were not living together. In 1910 Harriet is listed as divorced and Solomon remarried. I have found at least 8 children so far for Solomon and Harriet.) [[[[[[[[[Solomon and Harriet are shown in the 1880 census married and living in Oliver Twp, Perry County, PA with 3 children. But their last name is mis-spelled as 'Zigler']]]]]]]]] Mary E(?--not sure it is an 'E') Keim/Krim/Keem/Reim(???) (All these are suggestions by others who have looked at the census itself as to what her last name might be. Some say they don't see a 'dotted i'. So, it might not even be any of these suggestions!) Her age is given as 46, Born January 1854, Widow with 10 children--8 living. I do not know what else the census says about her. Cora is listed as a boarder, age 26, Born February 1874, Single. I do not know what the census says in any other columns about her parents, etc. Elmer is also shown as a boarder, age 7, Born March 1893, Single. I do not know what the census says in any other columns about his parents, etc. [[[[[[[[Several people from various lists have sent me info about "Elmer's" that I will check out]]]]]]]] *************************************************** The 1910 Census for Harrisburg, Dauphin County, PA information that I have was sent to me by a librarian from off of a CD. She also has written "E-Disk 77" "visit 164" but I have no idea what that means. Here is the info: Solomon Zeigler, age 58, Born in PA Cora, age 52, listed as his wife Charles, age 3 listed as son -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The main things that I am trying to find out right now are: 1. What is the last name of Mary E.(?) in the 1900 census? 2. Is Cora Mary's daughter? 3. Is Elmer Mary's son? or could he be Cora's son? Is there any way to tell? 4. Are there 2 Cora's ----1900 & 1910-----or are they one and the same? 5. If one, what is her correct age? 6. If there are 2 Cora's, how can I find out who the Cora is that is Solomon's wife in the 1910 census? 7. What other information than what I have above is given in the 1910 census for Solomon, Cora, and Charles? Thanks for helping!!!!! 1. [PA-OBITS] Real mystery-----need help
    2. Hi, I have recently started searching my family tree and have hit a stumblingblock that I am hoping some of you can help me solve. In the 1900 census of Harrisburg, PA 8th Ward, there is a Mary E.(?) and Cora and Elmer living with Solomon B. Zeigler. Mary is listed as the housekeeper, widowed, 10 children--8 living, born Jan. 1854. Cora was born Feb, 1874 and is listed as single. Elmer was born March 1893 and single. I assume Cora and Elmer are Mary's children. Here is my problem: Most people seem to agree that the last name of Mary, Cora and Elmer is "Keim", however it could be something else since it hard to read. But I have not been able to find any matching references whatsoever to a Mary Keim, Cora Keim, or Elmer Keim anywhere else on the internet!! I tried the 1880 census and found nothing. How can I find these people? Can any of you search your census records, or other records, for me please? To make matters worse, Solomon is shown married to a Cora in the 1910 census (same location) but it looks like the age of this Cora is different than the Cora listed in the 1900 census. How can I figure out whether they are the same Cora or not? Can anyone look at their 1910 census to see what you think Cora's age is there, as well as 1900? Thanks so much!! Elizabeth
