THEY were lovely. Sent me the info about my great-great granddad, Patrick Kelly, and the other folks in the plot. He was buried on May 15, 1920. New Castle is being lazy now. They've done this before when I asked for a 10 year search on 2 people I know died in Philadelphia and all I got for my $56 was two lousy certificates of no death record. This is really getting ridiculous!

I have never had this happen.....possibly the date is off and the 'searcher' in New Castle didn't look far enough....this happens. If you have not called Holy Cross as yet, do so, they are very willing to search..IF you have the date of death..or IF the name is not a common one. Piketre

Allegheny County told my husband there was no birth record for his father. We know he was born there. I have gotten several death cert. from New Castle, Pa. No problem but it has been about one year since I requested any certs. Maybe things have changed in New Castle. I wrote to Buffalo NY for a birth certificate and was told there was no record. However, a very nice couple, went to the SAME PLACE I had written to and made a copy of the birth certificate and sent it to me! Now if there was no record, how did they find it??? They were with Random Acts of Genealogy Kindness. And I greatly appreciated their random act of kindness. I tried a marriage cert for New York and found the same excuse "Not Recorded" lazy people !!!!!!!
I have found the very same problem for Philadelphia, and PA in general. I really don't believe they are researching this...
Would you believe I received a certification of no death record today for a great-great granddad who died in May of 1920? I KNOW he died in Philadelphia and he is buried in Holy Cross in Yeadon, but there's no death record???? Give me a break - these people in New Castle just don't want to look!
I don't even know if this is the purpose of this mailing list. However, if it is...then this is a BIG order I have. If not, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. My greatgrandmother Ruth Nancy Watson Duvall was still alive in the 1930 census in Meyersdale, Somerset County, PA. I am not sure when she died. I was 22 years old when my grandfather passed away in GA. I was elected to call family members and I remember my grandmother giving me the name of her mother-in-law and a couple phone numbers. I do not remember if I EVER spoke to Ruth during that phone call or not. I rather doubt it since she would have been 103 at the time. I also seem to recall hearing somewhere that she died many many years ago. Here is the info as listed on the 1930 census as received from the PA-Census list in case it will help someone to find her obituary. I don't know that it will but am sending it any way just in case: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ She is still alive 1930 Duvall, Ruth W occ worked in bank Age: 54 Year: 1930 Birthplace: North Carolina Roll: T626_2149 Race: White Page: 2A State: Pennsylvania ED: 30 County: Somerset Image: 0779 Township: Meyersdale Relationship: Head Sons John, 17, baker, Harry,15,newsboy and James,12, newsboy are with her Harry and James had paper routes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks in advance for any and all help with this TALL order, Lainee Denton _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 with e-mail virus protection service: 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/virus
