If you are asking about a Clay County, PA, there never was a county by that name. I have a list of the names of the 67 counties and when they were organized. If interested in the list, email me and I will send it to you. My list, if you want to call it that, are a couple jpeg files I saved from a web site at one time showing the counties on the map and such. I cannot send attachments to the list, so it would have to be to your email address. Sue in PA
Kathy, Please send me the web site. God's Blessings Gabby

I sent for the birth and death certificate of my uncle by marriage. I did not have the form, just a letter requesting them. They sent my letter back to me and included the form I needed. I filled out the forms and sent my check for $7 (Birth costs $3 and death costs $4,). I resent including my self addressed stamped envelope this past week. The new forms are double sided, one side for birth certificate requests and the other for death certificate requests. Happy Hunting hi Gabby, from what I hear they are getting real funny. it has to be a direct ancestor, grandparent, parent etc. they won't give aunt, uncle, cousin. if you need the website I can send it I hear they have a new application too. take care kathy
HI, I live in Pa. and I went to New Castle to request death certificates. I was asked to fill out the form and then I submitted forms for two people and the money. I think it was $3 each. They said they would mail me the death certificates. Then about one week later I received them in the mail. Each were mailed in an envelope. This was my experience about two years ago. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Bryson258@aol.com> To: <PA-OBITS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 05, 2003 8:52 PM Subject: Re: [PA-OBITS] certifs. > Please tell me is it so, one may not go in person to receive death CERT in > New Castle? I am looking for obits for the surname Waradzin or Waradzyn in Berks and Luzerne Counties: The specific names may be: Andrew Waradzin / Waradzyn John Waradzin / Waradzyn (he had twin sons named Mike and Steve) Michael or Mike Waradzin / Waradzyn Stephan or Stephen Waradzin / Waradzyn Paula or Pauline Waradzin / Waradzyn Julius Waradzin / Waradzyn Thank you kindly. Ellen ewaradzin293434mi@comcast.net
I have no particulars re the death of either of the above, but am hoping that perhaps someone has access to newspaper obits or ? for the years between 1909 and 1915. Those are the years I feel confident that the deaths occurred, either separately or together. This man and wife were born in Scotland and William worked in the coal mine at Bens Creek, Myra in 1907-1909, and then all trace of the family disappears. They had a son (my father), named Thomas Watt Wallace, and family hearsay indicates he was orphaned at this time. Any info will be much appreciated. Many thanks. Pat, Mission, B.C.

Hi... I am seeking more information on Wilson Carroll and his family....Wilson was born Feb 11, 1857 in Johnstown, PA, died Feb 8, 1947 in Montgomery Co. MD) and he married Elizabeth Virginia (Jeannie) Sleasman(Oct 14,1860 in Smithsburg, MD, died Feb 1, 1932 in Smithsburg, MD) on April 4, 1881. I am wondering if someone could help me in locating Wilson in the census before 1900. His parents were William Carrell (1816) and Mary Avey(20 Mar 1814). I have found Wilson and family in the 1900 and beyond census. Wilson and Elizabeth's children were: Ethel Ann Carroll( born:Sept 6, 1882...any info on her would be great....in her mother's obit it is stated that she was living in 1932 in Newark, NJ), Mabel Irene Carroll Pratt( born 13 Sep 1887 in MD and died 05 Feb 1961 in Laurel Maryland..she married Henry Pratt...any info on them would be great), Susan L. Carroll(I have info on her, she was my great grandmother), George William Carroll (02 Dec 1890 in Smithsburg, MD and died 12 Mar 1979 in Winter Haven, Fl. He married Melissa or Malissa(born abt 1889 died in 1981 in Orlando, FL) and they had 5 children: Viola(Abt 1905), Helen (Abt 1907), George W. (Abt 1909), Carl W. (Abt 1914) and Raymond (Abt 1915)...seeking more info on this family also). Naomi Ruth Carroll Bowen(01 Feb 1895, in Waynesboro, PA and died 09 May 1990 in Riverside, CA but her interment was in Rappohannack Baptist Church Cemetery, Rappohannack, VA). She married William Tyler Bowen (07 Feb 1899 in Newburg, West Virginia and died 19 Oct 1984 in Rockville, MD. while visiting a granddaughter). They married and had two children that I could find in the 1930 census. Any information on them would also be great) and the last child of Wilson and Elizabeth was: Esther Josephine Carroll Roggenkamp( 19 Jun 1900 in Smithsburg, MD, died 11 Oct 1987 in Foneswood, Virginia) She married a Arthur Wilbur Roggenkamp (08 Dec 1901 in New York, died May 1973 in Warsaw, VA) Any information would also be great on them. Any help anyone can give me would be great.....appreciate whatever info any one can give me. Stephanie Grohol

Hi, I have been following this conversation for a few days and I can relate completely. It took me three requests and 10 years to get a copy of my mother's death certificate. I was told there was a law the prohibited them from sending me the information. The law was never cited. I am still trying to get information from Vermont and New Hampshire. The difference between these places and PA is that they charge $30.00's for each request and they don't return your money. My cousin requested information from PA and was told the same thing. She found the information in town books. Last page. I suggest that everyone complain to PA Vitals on the issues that are being stated here. There is a great deal of time and money being spent on requested searches and certificates. We as consumers should have some sort of confidence that every request is being researched properly. > > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > > >

It took me 2 years and 7 attempts, each with a little more info then the one before it to finally get a death certificate for my ggrandfather who died in February 1910 and is also buried in Holy Cross, when I finally received it about 4 months ago, I saw that our last name was spelled wrong on the death certificate. I am assuming that some bright person in New Castle noticed that the last name was almost the same and decided to look a little further and see that all the other info I had sent matched. I think when you send for a death certificate you just have to hope that whoever gets your request feels like working that day. -----Original Message----- From: TCall2000@aol.com [mailto:TCall2000@aol.com] Sent: Saturday, December 07, 2002 5:19 PM To: PA-OBITS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PA-OBITS] This is getting ridiculous Would you believe I received a certification of no death record today for a great-great granddad who died in May of 1920?
