    1. [PA~OBITS] 1938 Williamsport, Lycoming Co., PA SPEYER
    2. Paul & Fredreica Speyer
    3. Could someone look-up an obit for Jacob H. "Jack" Speyer and/or his wife Velma Speyer. I do not know her maiden name. Family lore has it that Jack was killed when he was hit by a car while crossing the street in Williamsport. We thought this occurred in 1937, but it looks like it was about 1938. This is what I know of my great-grandfather, his second wife and their lives while in Lycoming Co., PA: * Jacob H. Speyer and Velma are in the Williamsport City directory in 1938 only. * They were living at 308 Market Street. * There are no Speyers in the 1930, 1936 or 1937 Williamsport city directories * Velma died 3/20/1980 at age 87 at Leader Nursing Home * Neither Jacob nor Velma are buried in Wildwood Cemetery * Velma's sister was Lois B. Steinbacher, wife of Kenneth R. Steinbacher * Kenneth & Lois lived at R.D. # 4 Williamsport * Lycoming Cemetery series books (Vol. 1, 2, 4, & 7) do not have any Speyer listed * I need to contact Montoursville Cemetery at E. Broad St. in Montoursville, PA 17754 (what is phone number?) Thank you so very much for your kindness and your help. Fredreica

    3. Jim -- I have had quite a bit of success in the Pittsburgh area of late. The Carnegie Library has an index of obits and they will look up and send you 5 for $8.75. It is very reasonable and fast for 5 obits. If your ancestors are Catholic, I can't recommend the Pittsburgh Diocese enough. They charge $15.00 for 1 hours research. Well worth it for the information that they found for me. Good luck. 2. Seek info on John and Frances Brown, both d. Philadelphia (or vacinity) between 1900 and 1903, leaving children Alice, John, Claire and Adella (b. 12/28/1900). Children were adopted out John to a Catholic family, the girls to individual Protestant families. Adella, my grandmother, was adopted bef. age 3 by a family named Garvey of Greene Co., NY,Children later reunited, so the adoptive families may have been relatives or members of their church. Frances' maiden name was probably Roberts. This family may have had Quaker ties. Thanks! Lynell Kirk Nelson AGenFool@aol.com

    2. I am still trying to locate information on Aaron William McKeever/McEver (or perhaps it is William Aaron) who at one time lived in Allentown, PA. Since he was born in 1900 plus/minus 1-5 years, I'm pretty sure it would be an obituary. He was married to a lady named Margaret. If you have any means of checking for his obit, I would be most grateful. No one in our extended family seems to know what happened to him. Thanks for any help. Betty
