Yes, it could be indexed as Crissman as well. Remember that the index was made by folks trying to read the actual images; sometimes they come up with some interesting variations. Only by looking at the actual image can you see (if it's readable) what the spelling might have been. It is important to remember that often the census taker wrote phoenically; and often the transcribers made mistakes.
