Could someone find a John or William Walker and family in the 1930 Philadelphia Census? William (or John. don't know the correct name) He owned a manufacturing plant on Atlantic Street in Philadelphia, maufacturing needles and heddles. I don't know his age or anything about him except he was born in Scotland in the 1850's around Paisley. My father worked for him (his uncle) for over 35 years. I could not find anything in the Philadelphia Directory except the location of the plant, which I already knew, as I visited it as a child. Thank you very much, Ron Elliott Levittown, PA
If he was born in the 1850's, he'd be over 70 in 1930. I found a John Walker, 74, with wife Mary, but the image showed no employment. Could this be him, retired? There was no William in Philly b. Scotland in 1930 that I could see. Can you supply your grandfather's name? Perhaps we can find the 2 brothers together in an earlier time. -----Original Message----- From: Ronald Elliott [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, November 27, 2006 7:55 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP] 1930 Census/Philadelphia/Walker Could someone find a John or William Walker and family in the 1930 Philadelphia Census?
