    3. Hello Al, Thinking this might possbily be your James Bryant in the 1870. This is the closest I could find to a James born ca. 1871 in PA. It would follow through to the 1880 in KS and beyond. BRYANT, JOSEPH (1870 U.S. Census) PENNSYLVANIA , WAYNE, OREGON TWP Age: 33, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: PA Series: M593 Roll: 1464 Page: 196 Dwelling 112, family 112, Bryant, Joseph, 33, m, w, Farmer, 2000./700., PA, married w/in the year , Bessie, 22, f, w, Keeping house, ENG,both parents of foreign birth, married w/in the year , James, 1, m, w, PA, father of foreign birth. The foreign birth column is checked for Bessie, both parents, which makes sense. It's checked in the father col for James which could just be a mistake, ie. in the wrong column. That they were married "w/in the year" appears to be off as there are hash marks for all the other HOH couples on the image. I'm thinking the enumerator checked the box to note that they were married as he did for everyone else. These are the other BRYANT in Oregon Twp, should they help with the connection.
