    1. [PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP] Enumeration Districts (Phila)

    3. I have had a "brick wall" in my research for many years in my mothers direct line. I have a bio on my g-grandfather being born at "10th and Thompson Streets" in Philadelphia on 14 Feb 1850. I have found maps of the city for 1850 and 1860 but I cannot locate the enumeration district (or Ward) for that address. I think I need to go through the enumeration district, family by family (the old way), because the name was not indexed correctly. The name was REMPP or possibly REMP or REMPF - there are many other possible misspellings, too. The father was Jacob REMPP, his wife was Mary, and sons Theodore Robert REMPP (b.1854) and Jacob Gotlieb REMPP (b. 14 Feb 1850) and daughter Caroline REMPP (b.1846). You would think the family would be easy to find. The father's occupation was a shoemaker. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions. Best regards for the holidays to everyone - Bob Moyer Asheboro, NC - formerly of North Wales and Spring House, PA
