From: <pennsylguy@aol.com> >> Where did the data you posted come from? The searchers need to know what year it was in which Robert was age 30. There was no 1855 census that I know of, just the 1860. Have you found Robert in an earlier census, and if so, what was the location of his residence then? << Sorry Fred....... should have been more precise. Robert WILKINSON'S age (and the other family members) was subtracted from an 1870 Vinegar Hill, Jo Daviess Co., Illinois, Census, his birth year was 1824 in Dirt Pot, Allenheads, Northumberland, England - therefore he was aged 30 in 1855. Once in Illinois he is listed in the 1860/1865/1870 Census', and then 1880 in Weeping Water, Cass, Nebraska. The only other Census listing I've found him in was the 1841 English Census. As can be seen he was well travelled - in New York 1852 and Pennsylvania 1855; but if as say, no Census was taken in Pennsylvania during 1855 then my request for the family's whereabouts has no merit. Thankyou. Regards - Derick.

IL << Gail..... no, I'm afraid not - thankyou for looking though, but you have hit on the crux of my problem. In the 1870 Census of Vinegar Hill, Jo Daviess Co., Illinois: Robert WILKINSON is aged 45 Miner born England. Margaret 42 born England. Jane (Elizabeth) 18 born New York. John 15 born Pennsylvania. Margaret 13 born Illinois. William 10 born Illinois. 3 other children all born Illinois. and In the 1860 Census of Vinegar Hill Jo Daviess Co Illinois: Robert WILKINSON is aged 44 Farmer born England Margaret 43 born England Elizabeth 9 born New York John 6 born Pennsylvania Margaret 4 born Illinois William 8/12 born Illinois I've ordered the 1865 Census Film No. FHL US/Can 972748 from LDS here in Dorset UK to compare the entry and decide if they are the same family and an enummerators error or they are two entirely different families. (I understand an enummerator could accept a child's account of the household if adults weren't present?) As John was born in Pennsylvania in 1855 I thought to ask, if there were an 1855 Census, for someone to locate them..... but no Census exists. Thankyou once more for the lookup Gail, it was kind of you. Regards - Derick.
