I have Ancestry.com, and have spent countless hours searching for the following family with negative results. I've used all my "tricks" to find them, all negative. Never before have I believed that families were missed, and have been able to find many of those "lost" folks for other researchers. But that may be the case with this family. I've used last name only, soundex, three digit surnames with asterisks, first name only, I've searched whole wards where they were supposed to have lived. Nothing! I'm preparing a request to Carnegie Library for City Directory lookups of 1918-1923. Before I do that, tho, I could use some help by anyone who has another census program other than Ancestry home/library editions. DRAGO, Gaetano, 65-ish, b. Italy, 1855, and his wife Germania, 59-ish, b. Italy, 1861.. Son Giuseppe, 30-ish,b. Italy 1890. dau Giovannina, 22-ish,b. Italy, 1898 dau Giuseppina, 26-ish, b. Italy 1894. Gaetano may be Americanized as Tony or Tom/Thomas. Giuseppe, b.Feb.1890, may be Americanized as Joe or Joseph. Giovannina, b.June 1898, is found on the 1930 as Jennie. Giuseppina, b. Aug 1894, is found on the 1930 as Josephine. I expect to find them in Pittsburgh Allegheny County, in Wards 2,or 3, or 4. Perhaps in Strip District, or Bloomfield. Corday Way, Mulberry Alley. It is also possible that they may be visiting Dunkirk or Fredonia New York, Chautauqua County. They arrived in USA in 1912. The parents Gaetano and Germania are to have returned to Sicily in 1923. The 3 children stayed in USA. Looking forward to your RAOGK.
