Did not see any Dilks families on the page before or after William and Elizabeth in 1850. There is a James Dilks (age 56 b. PA) in Philadelphia in 1850, living with Franklin and Mary Foster and children. No other Dilks in this household. Ann/Hannah could have died and James remarried is the reason the one in Gloucester Co. has a different wife. Here are some prospects from 1830... (No "Steel/Steele/Stael" spellings in Gloucester NJ) Saml Stiles Woolwich, Gloucester, New Jersey Samuel Steel Blockley, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania William Steel Penn, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania William Steel Philadelphia Pine Ward, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Wm Steel Philadelphia Upper Delaware Ward, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania James Dilks Deptford, Gloucester, New Jersey James Dilks Deptford, Gloucester, New Jersey James Dilks Jr. Deptford, Gloucester, New Jersey Saml Dilks Jr. Greenwich, Gloucester, New Jersey Saml S Dilks Greenwich, Gloucester, New Jersey (There are two James Dilks listed in Deptford...not a duplication) If you can narrow the field, I'll be happy to send a transcription. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, October 08, 2006 1:57 PM Subject: Re: [PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP] Steel - Steele- Stael---1830 -- Phila. ? >> Linda Farmer <[email protected]> >> Re: Steel - Steele- Stael --- 1840 -- Phila. ? >> >> This seems to be the most logical candidate, since William and >> Elizabeth had a son who would be "under 5" in 1840 and a daughter b. in >> 1840.
