Karen, Thanks so much! These are definitely them! And I did a search for Samuel L. Earl on the LDS site and found the marriage date for Laura and Samuel. Laura's maiden name was Baird, and she was my mother's great-aunt ( but my mother never met her or Lawson). We didn't know about Virginia. If it's not too much trouble, could you check 1860 and 1870 to try to find the elder Samuel Earl's parents?
