The 1840 census was based on the date of June1, so no matter what time of the year the census was taken, your John would have been listed as 27 not 28. However, I found no John, either 27 or 28, close to that area in 1850. I found one in NY state, but he was a boarder with no family, and b. NY. -----Original Message----- From: Beverlee [mailto:trace97@surewest.net] Sent: Wednesday, September 21, 2005 12:56 PM To: PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PACEN] PA-Census-lookup/1850/unknown/John Benjamin Would appreciate lookup 1850 John S. Thank you Gail, both you and Karen were very sweet and kind to look for me. I'm relatively "sure" that John Benjamin was b in 1822 and records show that he is buried in Canaan Corners Wayne Co His Nephew noted that John married Harriet Cox and had ch Eliza, Frank, Lavisa, Rush, Mary (no dates). I can't find and prove them either. My Benjamin families seem to migrate between Wayne, Lackawanna and Luzerne but likely started from CT & NY. (Smile) well if John wants put back in his tree where he belongs he better cooperate 1850 census is my last hope.
