THE CAMBRIA DISPATCH, Friday, December 29, 1944, page 2 FRANCIS LUKOSAVICH RECIVES PROMOTION [ picture of Francis ] This is the photo I am looking for. FRANCIS J. LUKOSAVICH, 19, has been promoted from private to sargeant at the Eighth Air Force bomber station in England. One of five sons of JOSEPH LUKOSAVICH, Prospect Street, in military service, he has particiapted in numerous combat operations over Germany as a bomb release man on a Flying Fortress. Prior to entering the service in August, 1943, Sgt. Lukosavich was attending Portage Township High School. He is a member of the 384th Bombadment [as spelled] Group, a vetran [as spelled] unit on the European aerial front having more than 225 attacks against the enemy to its credit. This is all I have and would like the photo and clipping if there is a way. You see a month before he was comming his plane and the crew was MIA they made there bombing run and hit the target but never made it back to base. If anyone can help us we would be greatful.
