I'm hoping someone has access to Heritage Quest who can look to see if the Twp of Strausburg is available. For some reason it was not scanned and indexed by Ancestry. I am looking for any and all DEVINE's DIVINE's and sometimes spelled DIVIN or DEVIN. Any help would be most appreciated. Regina

Hi, Lydia The 1820 doesn't list single, married, widow...also doesn't show street names; there is no female head of household listed for Spring Garden... this is a possible: Name: Mary Baker Township: Moyamensing County: Philadelphia State: Pennsylvania Year: 1820 Roll: M33_109 Page: 175B Image Number: 185 this Mary is the head of household so she is the female over 45 there is also a female in the next youngest category as well as several males; one the same age as the other female and 2 that are younger there's this Mary: Name: Mary Baker Township: Philadelphia Locust Ward County: Philadelphia State: Pennsylvania Year: 1820 Roll: M33_108 Page: 57 Image Number: 46 but this link goes to the wrong image; there is no Baker on the linked page For female heads of household, there are about 3 Mary's, I think 2 Hannah's, and an Isabel.....there's nothing so far that can be used to pinpoint anyone..if you could find a map of the city close to that time and determine which section N. 8th St. is in, then at least we'd know what section/district of the city to look more closely at..... do you know if she had children/grandchildren living with her? Dear List members, My 3x gt-grandfather, Thomas McAdam died in Provo, Utah in November 1913. In his orbituary it states he had "a daughter [living in] Pennsylvania" In August 1917 his wife, Margaret A.W. MC ADAM died in Provo, Utah. In one obituary it states she was survived by a daugther "Mary BROWN of Susquehanna, PA " and in another "Mrs. Harry BROWN of Susquehanna, Pa.". I am therefore looking for a Harry and Mary BROWN of Susquehanna. Would SKS be so kind as to check the 1910 and 1920 census for this couple. I know that Thomas and Margaret MCADAM had a daughter Mary Jane, born 11 July 1863, in Whitehaven, Cumberland, England. In August 1882 she married a Thomas BARNES (born 1861) in Whitehaven, England, but I don't know whether Tom BARNES passed away and Mary Jane remarried, or whether he simply changed his name after immigrating. With kind regards Gail Roethlin - McAdam in Switzerland
