I now know Ada's married name... In 1920, Ada would have been 24 or 25. She was married to a SELTZER who may have been a chauffeur. Philadelphia. Her maiden name had been URIAN, and her mother was a Caroline C. RUSSELL. Apparently Caroline could have been on her own at a point -- her husband may have cast her out on her own. Could she have been with Ada at some point? Thanks for any assist... Progress is now being made on this one! May thanks for the list of volunteers that serve on PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP. You guys really make this list. Vince

Looking across the years from 1880 to 1930, I can find nothing definitive. More corroborating info is needed. Any idea of names of children? I find several Mary/Margaret Foster in 1880; no way to tell which is right. I find many Mary/Margaret/Margery Rankin in 1930; again, no way to tell which is right. It is obvious that Samuel Rankin is not alive in 1930. In any case, I do not find any trace in Chester Co. or, in later years, in Upper Darby, Del. Co. Names of one or more of their children would be most helpful. -----Original Message----- From: kch423@adelphia.net [mailto:kch423@adelphia.net] Sent: Wednesday, July 27, 2005 12:12 AM To: PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [PACEN] 1890-1940, Chester Co, Pa, Rankin and Foster I found this in 1900 Chester Co, Willistown Twp FOSTER, Mary C, servant, Apr 1874, 26, S, b. My cousin emailed me two days ago, and is seeking her great grandmother. She only has sketchy information, but I think it is possible to find her. Can you locate her for 1930 in, possibly or probably, Philadelphia? Here are excerpts that are not too personal to post: "Caroline Cooker Russell. Maybe Kooker ? Her daughter was Ada. Ada died in Gloucester, NJ in the 1960's I believe. Caroline passed away in Philadelphia in 1943 or somewhere around then. Caroline was my Great Grandmother whom I was named after." Thanks, Vince
Thanks very much for these lookups ______________________________Date: Tue, 26 Jul 2005 22:36:16 -0400 From: "Gail Steckel" <gail@gregsteckel.com> To: PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: [PACEN] Philadelphia Co., 1900, LAMOND In 1900 I find a John, b. I found this in 1900 Chester Co, Willistown Twp FOSTER, Mary C, servant, Apr 1874, 26, S, b. PA, NY, NY living as a servant in the home of Wilmer & Sallie COX and children. Possibility? Do you know where her parents were born, their names and the names of her siblings? Sometimes helps finding them ---- JamesEFosterJr@aol.com wrote: > > Looking for census data on a Samuel Rankin and wife Mazie (or possibly Mary) > after 1900 in Pennsylvania.
