I found a Henry in 1860 of the right age - I believe he was married to a Mary. I did not see one in the Schuylkill 1870 that was close to the right age. -----Original Message----- From: Tonya Lebo [mailto:tonlebo@verizon.net] Sent: Wednesday, August 17, 2005 2:29 PM To: PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Fw: [PACEN] 1860-1870 Henry\Harry Derr Schuylkill County PA ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tonya Lebo" <tonlebo@verizon.net> To: <PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 16, 2005 2:28 PM Subject: [PACEN] 1860-1870 Henry\Harry Derr Schuylkill County PA >I would appreciate a look up on Henry\Harry Derr in the 1860 and 1870 >census. Cindy, In the 1860 closest I can find so far is a William H. Schriber age 28 wife Mary A., however with dau Josephine 4/12. They're in Allegheny as well and living with an Margaret 30 and Adaline 23 Hursberger. However, there should be David and possibly Nancy with them. So this d/n appear to be them. Trying to track down where they were living in 1860 in hopes of finding his parents nearby. Do you know the Sellers side of the family, her parents' names? Will continue... Thank you for this lookup, Jennifer. Needless to say, it dispels the notion that Ada was in that household and identified. One has to wonder if Ada wasn't deliberately being excluded because she was born out of wedlock! Since Thaddeus took her in sometime in the next decade, and her mother did not have her in 1900, you've got to wonder, if she is listed somewhere - where is she! Maybe it might even give a bit of a tipoff on something else. Such as her father! Apparently a soldier. Ah, well. Trouble is, Ada M, if not with a family member, may be difficult to find. I feel sure her name was subject to significant errors in spelling! I thought if you cannot find Thaddeus under that spelling, you might find the household by means of its other members... So here is the household of Thaddeus, with ages, for 1910: In 1910: Thaddeus was 70, so he would be 60 in 1900. JaneP or Jannie P or Janie P was 65, so she would be 55 in 1900. Amasa, 36, so he would be 26 in 1900, and single or newly wed. Grace J, 34, so she would be 24 in 1900, and single or newly Amasa's wife in 1900. I really, really hope someone, identifiable as Ada Mary URIAN will be in that household, aged 4! Thanks, Vince
I just have to find Thaddeus S WORTHINGTON for 1900. In 1910 he had Ada URIAN, aged 14, living as a "Servant Girl," but who was doubtless actually an illegitimately-born distant relation. Bucks County. In 1900, her mom was living in the home of Jesse WORTHINGTON, a family member, even though she herself was a KOOKER. Ada was not with her mom, though she would have been some 4 years old. Since Ada Mary URIAN has not been found in 1900 with her mom, it would seem likely she was at the home of Thaddeus even at that time, as young as she was. He died in an old soldier's home in the 1930's in Idaho, but apparently was still in Bucks in 1920. Since Carrie, Ada's mom, was in Bucks for all of her life as far as I can tell, likely the same is true of her young daughter and Thaddeus WORTHINGTON. Can anyone find Thaddeus under whatever horrendous spelling? Recall he had been mistranscribed for one year as Haddens S. WORTHINGTON, for example, since the T was poorly scripted. Thanks, Vince Summers
