    3. In 1840, there is a Demareu family in Newport, Perry. I looked thinking maybe it would give a clue to location of the Frank family in 1840; if Joseph ended up living with them, it is likely they lived nearby. But none of the ones in the 1840 list for Frank live in Newport. Daniel Frank Buffalo, Perry, Pennsylvania Daniel Frank Oliver, Perry, Pennsylvania Frederick Frank Rye, Perry, Pennsylvania George Frank Oliver, Perry, Pennsylvania Henry Frank Oliver, Perry, Pennsylvania Jacob Frank Oliver, Perry, Pennsylvania Micheal Frank Buffalo, Perry, Pennsylvania Philp Frank Buffalo, Perry, Pennsylvania William Frank Madison, Perry, Pennsylvania Alexander J Franks Tyrone, Perry, Pennsylvania Of these, the 2 Daniel's do not have a son the right age. Frederick, George, and Henry all live right near each other (on the same census page) - you would think that if Joseph were the son of one of them and his parents died, that he'd go live with an uncle, yet he didn't, so perhaps that might rule out these 3. Philip and Michael are also on the same page; only Michael has a son the right age, but, yet again, the argument above comes into play. William does not have a son the right age; Alexander does. -----Original Message----- From: Voss5 [mailto:voss5@papadocs.com] Sent: Sunday, August 21, 2005 8:08 PM To: PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PACEN] Census lookup-1830-1850 Hello, I am looking for information on the Joseph Frank family. 3. May I offer a search tip for the Ellis Island site? ESPECIALLY if you are looking for an unusual name! If you know the town/village where the person came from, and it's a small town, try searching for that town without a name. Often, you will find variant spellings and other relatives who came a year or two before or after your relative! Hope this helps someone :) ----- Original Message ----- From: <pennsylguy@aol.com> To: <PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, August 21, 2005 6:02 PM Subject: [PACEN] Eduard SZAMBELAN Immigration > Hi Patrick: > > Ludwig SZAMBELAN's 1906 immigration record mentioned that he was coming to > live with his brother Edward in Detroit. I did see a Szambelan family in Allegheny Co. but there was no son by that name. I also saw a longer version Szambelanczyck but also no son by that name. -----Original Message----- From: Patrick Kenney [mailto:patrickekenney@yahoo.com] Sent: Sunday, August 21, 2005 3:05 PM To: PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PACEN] 1930 Census Lookup Request Leonard Andrew Szambelan would have been about 11 years old in 1930 last name could be misspelled, when pronounced it sounds like zam-blan, family tradition is it is a Americanized/truncated polish name.
