Ruth & Jennifer I found a Frederick SCHMIDT married to a Christina SCHMIDT in New York City, New York Kings(Brooklyn) District 213. He was 37 yrs of age, she was 28. They had 2 children, Frederick, son, age 4 born in New York and a daughter Lizzie age 2 also born in New York. Frederick SCHMIDT was a baker. If this is your Frederick I will send you the census as an attachment. Marijean missmari@cableone.net
Hi Marijean, Sorry, I don't know. You'll have to refer to the original post request from Ruth... Sounded to me as though her two requests are somehow related. Perhaps Christina/Tina Mertz married Frederick Schmidt. Don't know if they were found in later censuses.. Thanks, Marijean
I just learned that William George SELTZER, with his grandmom in 1930 in Philadelphia, married 1st, perhaps 1931-1932, an Edna TOOHEY. Supposedly she married William just to get away from her parents - ever heard that before!? I am wondering if anyone can find Edna for 1930 in Philadelphia? Quite possibly near her husband to be, but of course I don't expect you to spot that! Thanks, Vince Summers P.S. I suspect Edna may be: EDNA G SELTZER 31 Dec 1917 05 Feb 1999 (V) 28739 (Hendersonville, Henderson, NC) 33431 (Boca Raton, Palm Beach, FL) 165-07-6363 Pennsylvania If so, she never married again!
Sorry, using HQ, I don't find any Schmidt or Mertz/Merz in Indiana County that year.. Perhaps someone with Ancestry will have better luck. Karen, Thanks so much! These are definitely them! And I did a search for Samuel L. Earl on the LDS site and found the marriage date for Laura and Samuel. Laura's maiden name was Baird, and she was my mother's great-aunt ( but my mother never met her or Lawson). We didn't know about Virginia. If it's not too much trouble, could you check 1860 and 1870 to try to find the elder Samuel Earl's parents?
