Recently found a brother for my great great grandmother named George W. Adams b. 16 Jul 1843 Indiana, Pa d. 06 Dec 1861 Figured George died in the Civil War. Found 6 George W. Adams on the Union side. I have proven 5 not to be ours as they all lived past 1861. But can't find any info on one that was in the 55th Regiment Company G Infantry. Am hoping to find out where he was on the 1860 census index for PA at age 17, to determine where our George might have enlisted. Father was Samuel Douglas Adams. Mother Lydia Ostander Adams and two sisters Amanda and Mary died in Allegheny County in 1845. Living sisters were Anne Jane Adams Allshouse, Catherine E Adams Murray, & Sarah R. Adams. There were supposed to be other children but we don't know the names. Thanks in advance Laurie Beth Roman
Thank you so much, Liz. You may find it strange to hear me say that the main thing I was looking for was verification of the birthplaces of father & mother of Joseph! This verifies that what I hoped for is true! Liz, Thanks again. Re: original message, Now I must ask for her in 1910. Frances Friedman is on the 1900 census at her sister Mary (Hyman) Silverman's residence. Marian, if a natural daughter, was born in 1898, yet she does not appear on the 1900 with her mother. Perhaps the 1910 will clarify things. ~ JT On Tue, 20 Sep 2005 11:01:05 +0000 emckinnon5@comcast.net writes: 4914 Dearborn?, Pittsburgh [Correct, there is a Dearborn St, in Pittsburgh.] Samuel Rubenstein 33 Marian 22 Eleanor 1 1/12 Frances Friedman 53 widow motherinlaw all b.
