Gail As far as I can see this list is working well, Approx.. 6 messages today including Fred. Grant
This arrived at 2006... Grant
Well, my test message went through ok. It is possible that, other than Fred, there were no messages today - but I find that awfully hard to believe! It might be wise for all of you to check your spam folders. Make sure list messages aren't coming through tagged as spam. This does happen from time to time as ISP's update their anti-spam software. Unfortunately, if you aren't getting list messages due to spam, you also won't get this one! Hmm, how do I get around this without having to send individual emails to everyone on the list.....???? Gail List Admin
test - looks like no mail came thru today..
I want to thank every person who wrote to me off the line for offering help and lookups for my Jacob POWELL in Beaver Co., PA. In time I will write privately to everyone who helped me or wrote to me. I must also say the changes in the rootsweb lists have thoroughly confused me. It is no longer the way it has been during the few years I have learned to use a computer. In the future I will be more patient even though things don't seem to be working right. Thanks to all. Fred, Sr.
Please look for Reuben and Reecca HESS and family, probably in Bloom Township. They were all born in PA. Reuben would be about 41 and Rebecca 36 years old.. Thanx. Kerm
I got through to your messages! I will be posting later when I have time and get the information request together. Thank you much. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, October 17, 2006 7:11 PM Subject: PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP Digest, Vol 1, Issue 54 > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. Yes for the most part. They do have some 1930 but very little and absolutely no 1850. What a shame too, the best one to have for early people too. Hello Fred, I saw your post when posted, however the resource I use d/n have the 1840 indexed so I'm not much help. However, do you know where they might have been in 1830 or 1850? If so, perhaps we can track by township... Genealogy.com has an excellent (not all states) online index linked 1850 Census as part of their Genealogy Library subscription. Fortunately, Pennsylvania is one of the included states. The search feature is great. For instance, include keyword Philadelphia with name Charles Smith and the first file returned will include about 32 Charles Smiths from Philadelphia County. Click on the camera icon on any line and get the top half and the bottom half of the census page image as 2 pages.
