Yes, it could be indexed as Crissman as well. Remember that the index was made by folks trying to read the actual images; sometimes they come up with some interesting variations. Only by looking at the actual image can you see (if it's readable) what the spelling might have been. It is important to remember that often the census taker wrote phoenically; and often the transcribers made mistakes. Folks, This is a follow-up to yesterday's request. Thanks to Linda and Jennifer for responding. I would like to have a reading on Della/Cordelia/Cora Wadsworth for 1930. She and her family were last known to be in Lilly, Cambria Co. in 1923. Husband John is presumed to be deceased by 1930. Her age will be about 55 years. I checked the 1860 image and, yes, he is b. 1824 (being 36 in 1860). In 1850, he is in the same twp/county; a laborer on the Thomas Watters Farm, age 25; interestingly enough, there is with him a Peter Crisman, age 1. The hard thing here is that the last name could be indexed Crisman/Cristman/Chrisman/Christman. There are Crisman's that go way back in Chester County. My line intermarries with them. Hi, Looking for a Daniel Kennedy married to possibly a Phebe or Feebe or Phoebe. They would have a son David about aged 2. I have looked but have found nothing. It is possible they could have been in Maryland or WV as well. Phebe's birth location is MD on the 1860 Census but their son David KENNEDY has a birth location of PA. The men in this family have a tendancy to marry women from WV with the exception of Daniel. It's quite frustrating for me. ANY help is appreciated. I have Census records for David in later years.
