Thank you Gail for all the census. I don't think Casper or John is George's father either, unless he moved out before the 1820 census was taken. Just like my great grandfather Silas Camp, he was born in 1831 so in 1840 he would be the 1 male from 5-10 and 1850 he is not in the census, George and Nancy were his parents also. Hello all, Family legend has my immigrant grandfather having a best friend named MATHIAS MIKLOS. I'd like to know if this person's name is remembered correctly. One cousin says Miklos should be MIKULAS. Being a best friend I would assume an age range between 20 and 30 years. Sorry, a name is all I have. May I have a 1920 census search in Allegheny County for this name please? ~ George
If he was born in the 1850's, he'd be over 70 in 1930. I found a John Walker, 74, with wife Mary, but the image showed no employment. Could this be him, retired? There was no William in Philly b. Scotland in 1930 that I could see. Can you supply your grandfather's name? Perhaps we can find the 2 brothers together in an earlier time. -----Original Message----- From: Ronald Elliott [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, November 27, 2006 7:55 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP] 1930 Census/Philadelphia/Walker Could someone find a John or William Walker and family in the 1930 Philadelphia Census? All of the census prior to 1850 do not list the names of spouses/children - only head of household. So you will not find Evan listed in 1840 as a 10 yr old, unless you know the name of his father.. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, November 27, 2006 7:11 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP] 1840/Schuylkill/KLINE Please look for Evan Kline, b. ca. 1830 in the 1840 census.
