Can someone tell me what the relationship says on the 1880 census records, Rush Twp., Center County for Elizabeth Laird?

Looks like the word "assisting". She's a widow. She could be a relative, but there's nothing saying that she is. Though I've seen relatives listed as servants before. This is all the Mack men in Pennsylvania in 1790. Unfoturnately it is indexed under the father, and the children are done by dashes in the age catagory. So to find a 9 year boy you would have to open up everyone of these files (in Heritage Quest for example or Ancestry.com) and by deducing who might have sons in the under 10 yrs. of age catagory. I am assuming you don't know the county of his origin? I didn't look up 1800 this is just to show you the process. My aunt, Loretta SOMMERS, married a Norwegian fellow, Anders Olei HETLAND, first. She divorced him. Now he was born about 1903, and so it was either in the latter part of the 1920s or the earliest part of the 1930's that he was in the Pennsylvania area - I'm not certain of the county, especially since his wife and he had broken it off. >From an obituary of Pearl, listed in the subject header, Anders met Pearl in Pennsylvania, after she had come up from Georgia. So I am thinking it possible Pearl can be found in the 1930 census at about age 20, likely with her parents. The GROOVER name and the name Pearl are, I feel certain - uncommon names.
