Mike ADMSIC, of Smith township, near Burgettstown, was held Monday, by a coroner's jury in the deaths of Martin MARICH and Joseph LOUNDER, who were fatally injured when run down by an automobile of ADMSIC, on the Burgettstown-Atlasburg road, near the Erie mine, on the night of August 12. The jury's recommendations were that ADMSIC be held for involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving and driving while intoxicated. First Assistant District Attorney Russell Z. MONINGER represented the commonwealth, and Attorney Howard W. HUGHES, the defendant. County Detective Frank A. CREPS, who investigated the case, was a witness. The inquest was held in the borough building, Burgettstown, and was in charge of Coroner William BAKER. MARICH and LOUNDER were fatally injured when a roadster driven by ADMSIC ploughed into a crowd of young people walking along the highway. Three others who were hurt, Rudy VALJENIC, Frank, LARICH, and George YACKSICH, are still in the hospital in Pittsburgh, being seriously hurt. The evidence clearly brought out that ADMSIC was driving at a high rate of speed. One of the men fatally hurt was thrown clear over a row of guard posts along the highway and down over the bank for about 120 feet. The other of the fatally injured men was hit with such force that he was pulled out of his shoes. It was, also, shown that 14 guard posts were torn loose by the impact of the car, these being about 10 feet apart. The only evidence that ADMSIC had been drinking was that of Detective CREPS, who said that ADMSIC had told he that he had had four drinks of wine and he guessed he had got too much. Riding in and on the roadster were eight men. Three, including ADMSIC, were on the seat, and the remainder on either side of the car on the running boards. ADMSIC is out on bail for the November term of court.
