    3. Carrie HARRISON, Negress, of Avella, who is held for the fatal stabbing of Clarence GREGG, a Negro, in her house at Avella on the evening of November 10, was formally charged with the murder Saturday in an information made by Chief County Detective W. B. DINSMORE before Alderman J. F. CARMICHAEL. It seems that this information was supposed to have been made at Avella by some of the officers there, but it had been overlooked, and Detective DINSMORE made it Saturday. When arraigned before Alderman CARMICHAEL she waived a hearing for court and was committed to jail. She is alleged to have stabbed GREGG when the latter went into her house drunk and started trouble. According to her story he seized her and she was afraid that he intended to harm her. She reached out and picked up a paring knife lying on a table with which she struck GREGG in the chest, inflicting wounds from which he died a short time later.
