MOTTE, MONROE, WALKER Louis MOTTE, aged 36 years, of this place was fatally stabbed Friday evening shortly after 10 o'clock as the result of a quarrel at a dance held in Fayolle school house north of town. The cause of the quarrel has not been determined. Frank BOLIND, aged Santiago, near Imperial, was taken into custody by Chief of Police SCHONS shortly after and confessed that he had wielded the knife. Tony FIALOS of Valley street was severely slashed on the left arm when he grabbed BOLIND who attempted to run after MOTTE fell. BOLIND succeeded in getting away but was captured by Policeman SCHONS near the German church, west of town. MOTTE died before medical aid could be reached; his body was taken to the mortuary of J. C. ROGERS. FIALOS was attended to by a local physician. Mr. MOTTE was a world war veteran serving with the 319 Infantry, 80th Division and for the past three years had been a member of the 103d Medical Regiment U. S. National Guards. He was a well-known musician and for the past year has been in the drayage business here. Besides his wife, Mrs. Antonia KLIMAS MOTTE, three children survive. They are: Louise aged 8 years; Louis, aged 6 years, and Roseann, 9 months. Mr. MOTTE is also survived by his father, Alfred MOTTE, of McDonald; two sisters, Mrs. Jules LEMAL of Langeloth, Mrs. Ralph SAUNDERS, Ellwood City, and five brothers, Ernest, Jules, John, Alex. and Albert MOTTE all of this place. A military funeral was held in the St. Alphonsus church Monday morning at 9:00, in charge of the Rev. Fr. Joseph A. BURGOON. The procession from his late home to the church was headed by the 103d Regimental band of Oakdale, of which band he has been a member for a number of years. Interment was in St. Patrick's cemetery in Noblestown. Mrs. Louise J. (DICKSON) MONROE passed peacefully away at her home at Parkers Landing, Penna. on Tuesday morning, August 28, 1928 at 9 o'clock, from complication of diseases, after a lingering illness of more than a year. She was born May 5, 1862 at Buffalo Creek, Worthington, Penna. Was united in marriage June 22, 1880 at Worthington, Armstrong county, Penna., to John M. DICKSON and lived for thirty years in Oakdale, Penna., and to this union were born ten children of which eight are still living. Mr. DICKSON having died several years ago. Her second marriage was June 9th, 1924 to C. J. MONROE of Parkers Landing, Penna., where she has lived for the past four years. Mrs. DICKSON MONROE was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and will be remembered in Oakdale as Mrs. John M. DICKSON. She was very faithful to her church and was a devoted and loving mother, a good and kind neighbor always willing to lend a helping hand. The funeral services were held i! n the home of her daughter, Mrs. Glenn ADAMS of West State street, Oakdale on Friday afternoon, August 31, 1928, at 2:30 o'clock conducted by the Rev. W. R. MCMUNN, assisted by Rev. Archer and Rev. J. Melvin KEYS. Interment was in the DICKSON lot in the Oakdale cemetery. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, C. J. MONROE and eight children: James D. DICKSON, Preston, Okla.; Frank R. DICKSON, Drumwright, Okla.; Ralph DICKSON, Dennison, Ohio; Albert DICKSON, New Castle, Penna.; Harry A. DICKSON, Ray DICKSON and Mrs. Lottie ADAMS, all of Oakdale, and Mrs. Clare HOLLMAN, Bridgeville, Penna. Mrs. Emma GLENN WALKER, in the 90th year of her age, died at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth WILLIAMS at Philipsburg, Pa., on Monday evening, September 3rd, 1928 at 11 o'clock. Death was due to complications. Mrs. WALKER was the widow of Dr. Robert Latshaw WALKER of Carnegie, Pa. She had just returned the latter part of July of this year, from Tacoma, Wash., where she had lived for some time with a sister, coming to the home of Mrs. WILLIAMS at Philipsburg. Funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Methodist Episcopal church of Carnegie. Mrs. WALKER is the grandmother of Mr. J. N. T. WALKER of Arabella street.
