    3. I have wondered about the difference between M. E. and Methodist churches. Did one evolve from the other? I don't know of any M. E. churches in my area at the present time.. The Methodists-Rev. Mr. DAVIES will conduct M. E. services at YOUNG & WILLIAMS' Hall next Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, at which time, if deemed advisable, a permanent Methodist organization will be effected. There will then be regular services every Sunday at some place in town. It might be well to state in this connection that this is the regular Methodist Episcopal church which is not the same as the Free Methodist of which there is a flourishing congregation ere who differ somewhat in doctrine and in methods of work from the M. E. Rev. Mr. DAVIES is a man of genial manner, a first-class pulpit speaker, and a hard worker in the church cause. He seems well fitted for the work he has laid out before him here, and will without a doubt accomplish much real good in this community. There is good work in McDonald for such a church to do. It is evident to any one that our McDonald churches-Catholic, P., and U. P., Lutheran and Baptist-will not altogether seat more than one-half of our population. And there are large numbers of people who will feel more at home in the new church than in those churches. -Mr. DAVIES has a congregation of 125 members at Midway, besides good-sized congregations at Noblestown and Federal. When the McDonald church is organized, Midway and McDonald may be put into one pastorate and Noblestown and Federal into another, or Federal may be attached to the Bridgeville circuit, on which are now two churches and a pastor put in charge of McDonald, Midway and Noblestown.
