Hi, Eleanor Inquiry #1- My records show Daniel Jasper Ozment (b. 1832, prob. Wilson Co., TN, son of James Thomas Ozment and Mary Bland) married Sarah Brooks Jones ca 1853. My records also reflect Sarah was first married to Thomas Jasper Ozment (Thomas J. Ozment to Sarah B. Jones 17 September 1849, Davidson Co., TN). I do not have a copy of the marriage certificates for either Daniel or Thomas, but these documents or records would confirm. Also, if you have not already done so, check the 1860 census, Rutherford Co., TN (M-653, Roll 1271, page 5A, CD 1, PO Lavergne, dwelling 60, family 57, lines 13-18). This lists given name only as "Jasper", but age (28) would be right for David Jasper Ozment. Inquiry #2- This James Ozment ( age 35 in 1860 census, Drew Co., AR) "might" be a son of Alfred and Nancy (Lane) Ozment. They were married 21 April 1823. Only a guess.
