James (Big Jim) was the son of Joseph Smith Osment and Mary Polly Hawkins. I think we are researching the same people. I am just getting started but I have some things told to me by my family. I was told there were 3 brothers that came over from England. They all went their separate ways. One went to TX. , one to TN ? and the other to one of the Carolinas. This is where I'm at .
