I have your husband, Carl Adrian Ozment, in my family file. He is a direct descendant of John Jasper Ozment. There are two "Clinton Ozments" in that family line -- Andrew Clinton, 1843-1883, was the father of Elnora Ozment who was Gene Autry's mother. James Clinton, 1886-1965, was a nephew of Andrew Clinton, being a son of Robert H. Ozment, younger brother to Andrew Clinton. Both Andrew Clinton and Robert Henry Ozment were sons of John Jasper Ozment, 1800-1855. As to the connection to Cole Younger, I believe it is just a family story. It is pervasive, but I have found no proof. Cole Younger's mother, Bethsheba, was supposed to be a sister to Anna Mae and Margaret Morgan, who were both wives of John Jasper Ozment. That would make Cole Younger a nephew to John Jasper. However, all the information I have found says that Bethsheba was not a Morgan; she is cited as "Bersheba Leighton Fristoe", 1816-1870, born in TN. The Morgan sisters were born in NC, so that location doesn't fit any better than the last name. I know families moved around, and the Fristoe could have been an early marriage, but there is no indication of "Morgan" associated with Bethsheba in any of the sources I have found. Caroline
