Dwight and Evelyn I solved a mystery today, so if you are keeping track of my group of Ozmons, or whatever spelling you choose, this updated my immediate grandfather's info. thanks, Frank Frank and Chris Courtney Moncks Corner, SC ----- Original Message ----- From: Chris and Frank To: Kay in CA ; Linda Harrison ; Judy Stell Cc: Judy Boie ; Bob and Kate Ellenwood Sent: Friday, September 17, 1999 3:11 PM Subject: Hi Cousins, STURGIS Mystery solved Judy, Linda, Kay, Great news, cousins, the Sturgis mystery is solved. Now maybe we can help each other with the rest. The good news is that I received today Carroll Sturgis' death certificate and it solves a bunch of the mystery. Here is the data from the certificate: Carroll Chase Sturgis was born in Cape Charles, VA on April 17, 1882 and died in East Whiteland, Chester County PA on Jan 24, 1942 of a heart attack. He owned a restaurant and is interred at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA. His father was LITTLETON STURGIS and his mother was ELLA MARSHALL, both born in VA. His wife at the time of death was Mary P. Sturgis. So where does that leave us: 1. The death card I have on L.H. Sturgis tells me that this is Carroll's father. L. H. Sturgis, d.May 2, 1906 according to my baby book in Cape Charles, VA. 2. The photo of Robert H and Elizabeth Marshal are Carroll's grandparents, whose daughter was Ella Marshall. 3. The Mae Sturgis who signed the death telegram I have is Mary P Sturgis, Carroll's wife at the time of death. 4. I will make a bet that if we can find a death record on F. J. Schmoele in Norfolk, we will find that his wife was probably one of Carroll's sisters. Now, how does this track? Can't wait to hear from you. Frank Frank and Chris Courtney Moncks Corner, SC
